Translation commentary on Leviticus 8:3

Assemble: Moses is to convoke, or summon, the entire group, or “all the people of Israel,” for this ceremony. This public aspect of the ordination of the priests is not explicitly mentioned in Exodus 29.

At the door of the tent of meeting: on door see 1.3. Since this element has been shifted forward to the beginning of verse 2 in Good News Translation, it is translated here by the adverb “there.”
