Translation commentary on Leviticus 4:31

He shall remove …: see 3.3-4. Grammatically the pronoun he may refer to the guilty person or to the priest. The specific mention of the priest later in the verse may indicate that the subject of the previous verb remove is the person offering the sacrifice. If the receptor language requires that the subject of this verb be made explicit, it is probably best to make it the offerer of the sacrifice. Compare 1.6 and 3.3, where the offerer seems to be the one who performs such actions.
