And after this I looked, and behold, the twelve wings and the two little wings disappeared: For I looked, and behold, see 2Esdras 11.2. Here the verb disappeared has to mean “were gone,” meaning that these wings had already disappeared. An alternative model for this verse is:

• Then I noticed that the twelve large wings and two of the little wings were gone.
