The name that is transliterated as “Jerusalem” in English is signed in French Sign Language with a sign that depicts worshiping at the Western Wall in Jerusalem:

While a similar sign is also used in British Sign Language, another, more neutral sign that combines the sign “J” and the signs for “place” is used as well. (Source: Anna Smith)

Translation commentary on 1 Maccabees 7:27

So Nicanor came to Jerusalem with a large force, and treacherously sent to Judas and his brothers this peaceable message: Came to may be rendered “showed up in,” “appeared in,” or “arrived in” (Contemporary English Version). With a large force may be expressed as “with a large number of soldiers.” For peaceable message, see the comments on 1Macc 1.30. Good News Bible has a helpful model for this expression. However, the verb sent indicates that he sent messengers with this offer of peace, so Contemporary English Version renders that last half of this verse as “he sent messengers with false promises of peace to Judas and his brothers,” which is also possible.
