And they issued orders to the men of the forces that were with them, and they marched against Jamnia: The town of Jamnia was mentioned in 1Macc 4.15 (see the comments there). Good News Bible is a bit too condensed for this verse. Better models are:

• So they gave orders to their army, and then they all set out to attack Jamnia.

• So Azariah and Joseph ordered their soldiers to attack the town of Jamnia, and they set out to do so.
