This verse is a summary of the section, so translators may begin a new paragraph here (so Contemporary English Version). The demonstrative pronoun These refers backward to the lists in the previous verses including the Korahites (verses 1-9) and the sons of Merari (verses 10-11). Bible en français courant translates “Such were the groups of gatekeepers, recruited in the clans of Korah and Merari.”
