Therefore be instructed by my words, and you will profit: This closes Solomon’s little introduction. My words refers to the material that follows; Good News Translation translates “what I am about to teach you.” Profit does not refer to financial gain; it means that the readers will be better off if they learn these lessons. They will be wiser. And you will profit may be rendered “and you will become a much wiser person.”
