So if you have need of them, send people to get them for you: The Greek pronouns for you are plural; they refer to Aristobulus and the Jewish community in Egypt (see 2Macc 1.10). It is hard to see how Good News Bible arrives at its translation. The letter writer does not say that the Judeans will send books that the Egyptian Jews request, but rather that they will give the books to messengers that the Egyptian Jews send to get them. So we may say:
• If you ever need any of these books, send some people to get them for you.
