For evil shall be blotted out, and deceit shall be quenched: The conjunction For introduces the result of God changing the minds of people, so it is better rendered “so that” (Contemporary English Version). Good News Bible provides a helpful model for this verse. Translators who have no passive voice in their language may use the following model:

• So people will no longer do evil things, or deceive each other.
