For as an infant does not bring forth, and a woman who has become old does not bring forth any longer, so have I organized the world which I created: Revised Standard Version does not express the Latin text well here. New Revised Standard Version is better with “For as an infant does not bring forth, and a woman who has become old does not bring forth any longer, so I have made the same rule for the world that I created.” We suggest the following alternative model based on Contemporary English Version:
• An infant cannot have a child, and an old woman cannot have a child. I have made the world [to be] the same way. It can be filled with people only when I choose.”
