Translation commentary on 1 Chronicles 24:21

Of Rehabiah … Isshiah the chief: Rehabiah (literally “Rehabyahu”) should probably be understood as belonging to the descendants of Amram, as God’s Word has made explicit in the translation quoted above. For the Hebrew word rendered chief (literally “head”), see the comments on 1 Chr 23.10-11. Revised Standard Version‘s literal translation of this verse may be confusing. Parola Del Signore: La Bibbia in Lingua Corrente is clearer with “Isshiah head of the descendants of Rehabiah.”
