Translation commentary on Jeremiah 31:11

Ransomed: See 15.21, where Revised Standard Version has “redeem.” In this verse it is used in parallel with the verb redeemed, which occurs only here in Jeremiah.

As throughout Jeremiah, Jacob is better rendered “people of Israel” (see 10.16).

Hands too strong for him is expressed by Bible en français courant as “too strong an enemy.”
