witnesses: This word refers to telling others what the speaker knows from his or her own experience. See how you translated this word in 1:8 or 3:15.

these things: This refers to the things that Peter talked about in 5:30–31. In some languages “those things” would have the right meaning here.

5:32b

and so is the Holy Spirit: This phrase indicates that the Holy Spirit was also a witness concerning “these things” mentioned in 5:32a. Here are some other ways to translate this:

whom God has given to those who obey Him: This clause further describes the Holy Spirit. It does not separate this Holy Spirit from other beings named the Holy Spirit. For the correct meaning in some languages, translators must avoid the word whom. They may need to begin a new sentence here. For example:

God has given the Holy Spirit to those who obey him

the Holy Spirit. God has given him to those who obey him

God has given: The Greek tense is the general one here. It refers to the whole event of giving here. God gave the Holy Spirit to the apostles and other believers at Pentecost. But after that time, he also gives the Holy Spirit to anyone when he or she believes. Here are some other ways to translate this:
