Translation commentary on 1 Kings 16:28

This verse is similar in content and form to verse 6 and 1 Kgs 15.8, 24.

Slept with his fathers: See the comments on 1.21. These words do not mean that the graves of Omri’s ancestors were moved to Samaria. Rather, the expression simply indicates that Omri died.

Reigned in his stead: See the comments on 1 Kgs 11.43.
