The Greek that is translated as “twelve thousand stadia” or similar in English is translated in the German New Testament translation by Berger / Nord (publ. 1999) as zwöfltausend Stadien lang, das sind gut zweitausenddreihundert Kilometer or “twelve thousand stadia, that is app. two thousand three hundred kilometers.”
