Rejoicing and praising God: See the notes on verse 15 and 10.13.

His daughter-in-law: “His son’s bride” (Good News Translation) is a shade closer to the Greek than this New Revised Standard Version rendering.

At the gate of Nineveh may be expressed “the place where people entered the city of Nineveh” or “just outside the walls of the city of Nineveh.”

Walking along in full vigor: “Walking on his own” (Good News Translation) seems different, but the two translations capture different elements of the Greek verb. Both aspects are present. Contemporary English Version has “hurrying along,” which would seem to suggest both vigor and “the ability to see again.”

With no one leading him may be rendered “with no one leading him by the hand” (Good News Translation); the Greek verb does mean to lead by the hand, as in Good News Translation.
