For the plea in verse 26, see similar requests in 6.4; 31.16b. Line b can be translated “Your love is constant (or, never stops); therefore, help me!”

In verse 27a the Hebrew is “and may they know that this is your hand,” followed by “(that) you, Yahweh, did it.” Perhaps the psalmist is referring to his distress (so Anderson), but it seems more likely he is absolutely certain that Yahweh will answer his plea and save him, and so he prays that his enemies will see and recognize that Yahweh has saved him. The expression this is thy hand may be represented more explicitly than Good News Translation has done, as follows: “May my enemies know that you have acted, that you are the one who saved me.” It seems best to say, at the end, “who saved me,” rather than “who did it.” Good News Translation omits as unnecessary the vocative O LORD in verse 27b; translators are advised to include it.
