This saying continues the topic of greed.

“A greedy man stirs up strife”: “A greedy man” is literally “the broad soul,” where “soul” refers to the appetite. In 15.18 it is the hot-tempered person that “stirs up strife”. See there for translations of this expression. Here “stirs up strife” probably means to cause quarrels and trouble in the community.

“But he who trusts in the Lord will be enriched”: This line is a variant of 16.20b and 29.25b. For “trusts in the Lord” see the comments on 3.5. “Will be enriched”, as in 11.25, is literally “will be made fat” and means “prosper,” “be well off,” or “live a comfortable life.” See Good News Translation for a model translation.
