Translation commentary on Leviticus 4:25

The priest: the reference here is not to the High Priest, but to whichever of the ordinary priests that happened to be on duty at the time (compare verses 3-10, 16).

His finger: the wording here is slightly different in verse 6 above, but the meaning does not seem to be significantly affected.

The horns of the altar: see verse 7.

The altar of burnt offering: see verse 7. Since this altar was situated on the outside of the sanctuary, the blood was not taken into the sanctuary as was done in the two preceding cases (see also 10.18).
