Compare verse 12.

Note that Good News Translation leaves implicit some information which is explicit in the original (the log). But it also makes explicit some information left implicit in the original (“olive oil”). Translators who are sensitive to the needs and understanding of their readers may do the same, but this does not mean blindly following Good News Translation.

And the priest shall wave …: that is, “present as a special gift.” Some Hebrew texts have the pronoun “he” in place of the priest here, but the meaning is the same. The final rendering should follow what is most natural in the receptor language. But in most cases the noun will probably be better than the pronoun. Good News Translation again adds “for the priest” (see verse 12), which may be awkward and unnecessary in some languages.
