Translation commentary on Letter of Jeremiah 1:22

From this you will know …: The refrain here is not worded exactly the same as in verse 16, but it is close enough that the identical translation in Good News Translation is justifiable. If the translator wants to work to preserve some distinction, it lies in the use of the second person at the beginning of this verse. It may be rendered “This is how you can tell…” or “This proves to you that….”
