For Job has said, ‘I am innocent…’: For links verse 5 to verse 4 as the reason why they must look into Job’s case: he claims to be innocent of wrongdoing. In Revised Standard Version and others the quoted words of Job begin at verse 5 and end with verse 6b. Good News Translation makes only verse 6 a quotation. Contrary to his custom, Elihu quotes Job precisely here. In 9.15, 20 Job claims his innocence by saying “though I am innocent….”
And God has taken away my right is exactly what Job said in 27.2. See there for discussion.
