If you will remain in this land means either “If you will only stay in this country” (New Jerusalem Bible; similarly Bright) or “If you are willing to go on living in this land” (Good News Translation). Die Bibel im heutigen Deutsch and New American Bible interpret the text to mean “If you remain quietly in this land.”

Build you up … pull you down … plant you … pluck you up: See 1.10; 24.6.

For I repent of the evil which I did to you: See 18.8. Here translators can also say, for example, “I am deeply distressed by the great disaster I brought on you.”
