I will give them one heart and one way is expressed more concisely by Good News Translation as “I will give them a single purpose in life.” Heart translates the same noun as “mind” in verse 35. Most translators try to retain the difference in heart and way with an expression such as “one common way of thinking and of behaving [or, acting].”

As elsewhere, fear me can be expressed as “honor me” or “respect me.” See 5.24.

Their children after them; that is, “their descendants” (Good News Translation).
