The prophet Jeremiah spoke to Hananiah the prophet: In translation it may not be necessary to identify either Jeremiah or Hananiah as the prophet, since this information is fully clear to the reader. Good News Translation shifts to a first person reference for Jeremiah and translates “I said to Hananiah.” In fact, this follows quite naturally from verse 1, where first person “me” is used.
