The king does not reply to Jacob’s comments on his life nor does he ask any further questions.

Jacob blessed Pharaoh and went out … Pharaoh: this is a departure, and if a farewell greeting is to be used, it should be suitable for saying good-bye to the king. If a blessing that is different than a farewell greeting is used, it may be necessary to say, for example, “Then Jacob gave the king another blessing” or “Then Jacob blessed the king again.” See Good News Translation “… farewell blessing.”

Went out … Pharaoh: that is, “left the king” or “left the king’s palace.”
