And he set the laver, literally “and he placed the basin,” refers to the bronze “washbasin” (Good News Translation), or “large bronze bowl” (Contemporary English Version), along with its base. (See 38.8.) Between the tent of meeting and the altar means somewhere in between the tent and the bronze altar mentioned in verse 29. And put water in it for washing is literally “and he gave there water to wash.” (See verse 7 above.)
