And I said, “Here I am, Lord,” and I rose to my feet: Ezra recognizes the speaker from the bush as God by calling him Lord. Compare 2 Esd 6.17, where Ezra rose to his feet to hear a message from God. Another way to render this verse is:

• I said, “Lord, here I am,” and stood up.
