And I looked, and behold, one was set up, but suddenly disappeared: For And I looked, and behold, see 2Esdras 11.2. One was set up, but suddenly disappeared means one of the small four wings tried to rule, but quickly disappeared (compare verse 21). Good News Bible provides a good model here.

A second also, and this disappeared more quickly than the first: Good News Bible says “The second one also rose up, but it disappeared even more quickly than the first.” A better model is “A second one also rose up to rule, but….”
