Translation commentary on 1 Chronicles 27:11

Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites (verse 11): See 1 Chr 11.29. For the Hushathite, Parola Del Signore: La Bibbia in Lingua Corrente says “from the village of Hushah,” and Nova Tradução na Linguagem de Hoje has “from the city of Hushah.” Hushah was a town in Judah, about 6 kilometers (3.5 miles) southwest of Bethlehem. Of the Zerahites may be translated “a descendant of Zerah” (New American Bible), “of the clan of Zerah” (Bible en français courant), or “of the family of Zerah” (Revised English Bible; similarly New Century Version) to show that Zerah was a person and not a place. According to Num 26.20 and Josh 7.17, the Zerahites were descendants of Judah. Good News Translation and Nova Tradução na Linguagem de Hoje add that they were “a part of the tribe of Judah.”
