Exegesis:

statheis de ho Iēsous ‘Jesus stood still,’ cf. on v. 11. Though Jesus actually stopped (cf. Revised Standard Version) statheis at the same time has the function of preparing the way for what Jesus is about to do.

ekeleusen auton achthēnai pros auton ‘he ordered him to be brought to him.’ The first auton refers to the blind man, the last to Jesus.

keleuō ‘to command,’ ‘to order.’

Translation:

Commanded him to be (or, that he should be) brought to him, or, ‘had-(him-)brought to where-he-was’ (Tae,’ using the prefix discussed in the note on “to be baptized” in 3.7). The first pronoun may have to be rendered as, ‘the (blind) man,’ and/or the rendering of the second pronoun must make clear that the person referred to is identical with the one who gives the command. Further shifts may lead to something like, ‘ordered/told them (or, those people, or, those close by), “Bring him to me” .’ To bring, or, ‘cause-to-come,’ in this context sometimes more specific ‘to lead (by the hand).’
