The Greek that is translated as “The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath” or similar in English is translated in the German New Testament translation by Berger / Nord (publ. 1999) with Der Menschensohn hat das Recht, die Sabbatgebote auszulegen/em> or “The Son of Man has the right to interpret the Sabbath commandments.”
