a year and a half: This phrase in Greek is literally “a year and six months.” For example:

teaching the word of God among the Corinthians: This phrase in Greek is literally “teaching in/among them.” As more and more people in Corinth became believers, Paul would teach various groups of them. Other ways to translate this phrase are:

teaching…among them (Revised Standard Version)
-or-
teaching among ⌊God’s⌋ people

teaching: Paul not only taught those who were already believers, but he also preached to crowds of non-believers for some to believe in Jesus. In some languages a literal translation would wrongly imply that Paul stopped preaching. If that is true in your language, you may want to include the implied information. For example:

word of God: This phrase refers to the message from God about Jesus. For example:
