The Greek in 1 Thessalonians 2:7 that is translated as “like a nurse (or: nursing mother) tenderly caring for her own children” or similar in English is translated in Low German as “like a mother who puts her children on her lap and caresses their cheeks” (translation by Johannes Jessen, publ. 1933, republ. 2006).
