The Greek in 1 Timothy 4:2 that is translated as “hypocrisy of liars” or similar in English is translated in the German New Testament translation by Berger / Nord (publ. 1999) with leere Reden geistiger Falschmünzer or “empty talk by intellectual counterfeiters.”
