We suggest a paragraph break here, as in Good News Bible.

A man loves his wife more than his father or his mother: Good News Bible says “A man loves his wife more than his parents,” which may be misunderstood to mean a man loves his wife more than his parents love his wife. Translators must beware of making the same mistake. We suggest Contemporary English Version‘s model for this verse:

• “A man loves his wife more than he loves his father and mother.
