And because you love the house of Israel: The house of Israel is the Jewish nation, the Jewish people. In translation this line may work better at the close of the verse, leading into verse 11. A model will be given with verse 11.

You promised that if we should have reverses, and tribulation should overtake us, you would listen to our petition when we come to this place and pray: See Deut 4.30; 30.1-6; 1 Kgs 8.33-34, 48-50. If we should have reverses refers to any time the situation of the Israelites turns from good to bad.
