Translation commentary on Ezekiel 40:36

Its side rooms, its jambs, and its vestibule were of the same size as the others; and it had windows round about: See the comments on verse 29. The inner north gatehouse was identical to the other gatehouses. These clauses are shorter in Hebrew, which is literally “Its side rooms, its jambs and its vestibule, and the windows to it all around.” Complete Jewish Bible follows the Hebrew text by saying “it had guardrooms, supports and a vestibule with windows all around” (similarly Good News Translation, Contemporary English Version). However, many translations do the same as Revised Standard Version and make explicit that these structures were of the same size as the others. Ezekiel also left out the detail that the porch had windows (compare verses 29 and 33). Neither of these omissions changes the meaning at all, and translators may include this information if required.

Its length was fifty cubits, and its breadth twenty-five cubits: See verse 29.
