And must my sheep eat what you have trodden with your feet, and drink what you have fouled with your feet?: See the previous verse. This rhetorical question expresses the results of the selfish actions of the strong and powerful animals to emphasize how unfair they are. They have left trampled grass and muddy water for the other animals. Translators may use a strong statement here, for example:

• It isn’t right that my sheep have to eat what you have walked all over!
It isn’t right that they have to drink water that you have made muddy with your feet!
