Translation commentary on Jeremiah 34:21

And Zedekiah … I will give: Although this reflects the order of the words in Hebrew, it would be much more natural in English to follow the order subject-verb-object (see Good News Translation).

Enemies and those who seek their lives refer to the same people: “their enemies who want to kill them” (see the previous verse). They are now identified as the army of the king of Babylon.

Which has withdrawn from you: This is evidently the basis for the actions described in verse 11 (see there). Good News Translation is clear: “which has stopped its attack against you.”
