That is offered: this word, similar in meaning to the one above, indicates the special character of the offering.

I have taken … and have given …: as in 6.17, the use of the first person singular pronoun here is surprising, and in most languages a literal translation would probably be confusing. In Hebrew this form emphasizes in a solemn manner the divine origin of these instructions. Good News Translation brings this out by translating “that the LORD has taken … and given….” It may be made a bit stronger by saying “the LORD himself….” Compare 6.17.

To Aaron the priest and to his sons: that is, to the descendants of Aaron, the priests (see 1.5).

As a perpetual due: as in Exodus 29.28, this expression indicates the permanent right of the priests. Compare also 6.18.
