And the LORD God made for Adam and for his wife …: made is the same as in 1.25, 26. Adam translates the Hebrew ʾadam, which lacks the article and is recommended as “Adam” by Hebrew Old Testament Text Project.

Garments translates a word referring to a knee-length or longer covering, probably without sleeves. It is referred to in English sometimes as a “tunic,” but “a long shirt” may give a better picture. Of skins means made of animal hides and not of cloth made from the hair or wool of those skins.

And clothed them means that God put these shirts made of hide on the two of them, or made clothes for them to wear. The causative verb clothed may be expressed in different ways in translation. For instance, one translation has “… and he made them-two wear those clothes,” while another says “… he gave [the clothes] to Adam and his wife, and they-two put them on.”
